France is the best destination for a Via Ferrata trip but many countries have beautiful natural settings to offer(see a preview of the list by country). Spain, especially in Catalonia, opened some new ways in recent years. One of the best known is that of Sant Feliu de Guixols because it is one of the few in the world where you can climb above the sea!
The departure is along the coastal path between the main beach and the beach of San Pol: on the right you will see a small sign indicating the Via Ferrata.
It is ranked medium level and has some difficulties but is quite short. If you do not feel very well, there is a shortest way in the middle of the course. Throughout the Via Ferrata, you will have beautiful scenery on the wild rocky coast. You also have a great view of the kayaks and and stand up paddle on the sea.
If you want to rent equipment there are 2 renters Sant Feliu: Park adventures south of the city and the kayaks rental on the harbor offering Via Ferrata equipment for € 18 per day (16 € without helmets ). You can also do this via ferrata with a guide for about 30 € per person
SOL recommends this Via Ferrata because it allows you to enjoy the great views of the coast and to practice a fun and sportive activity.
